Spain

1. España es una tierra muy rica y hermosa.
2. Tiene mucha diversidad de clima.
3. El centro del pais es una meseta grande.
4. La costa es peligrosa, especialmente en el norte.
5. Castilla la Vieja produce trigo y buena cebada.
6. La naciòn espanola fue muy poderosa en el tiempo pasado.
7. El reinado del emperador Carlos V. es la epoca de la gloria Castellana.
8. La antigua provincia de Leòn era antes un reino pequeño.
9. El comercio era entonces muy importante.
10. Ahora la provincia mas comerciante es la Cataluña.
11. El Castellano es valiente, sufrido y trabajador, pero no es comerciante.

1. Spain is a rich and beautiful land.
2. It has diversified climate.
3. In the centre of the country is a grand plateau.
4. The coast is dangerous, especially in the north.
5. Old Spain produces wheat and good barley.
6. The Spanish nation was very powerful in the old times.
7. The reign of Emperor Charles V is a glorious Era for Spain
8. The former province of Leon was once a small kingdom.
9. Then Trade was very important
10. Now the most commercial province is Cataluna
11. The Castilian is brave, patient and hardworking but not a merchant.

Exercise 6

The Frogs.

1. Hay un pozo cerca de una casa.
2. Tiene un fondo muy profundo y muy oscuro.
3. Allí hay una familia de ranas.
4. Su vida es muy alegre.
5. Cantan todo el dia y una parte de la noche.
6. Una noche cantaban a la luz brillante de la luna.
7. A veces andan por el campo.
8. Pero- no cantan cuando estan fuera del agua.
9. Tienen un enemigo formidable.
10. Es un pajaro grande.
11. Su nombre es cigueña.
12. Tiene un pico muy largo y agudo.
13. Su color es blanco y negro.
14. La rana no tiene una voz muy agradable.
15. Un cuervo canta casi tan bien como una rana.
16. No es un animal nocivo aunque es feo.
17. En una laguna hay casi siempre ranas.

The frogs

1. There was a well near a house.
2. It is very deep and dark
3. Here there was a family of frogs
4. They are very happy
5. They sing all day and a part of the night
6. One night they sang to the brilliant light of the moon
7. Sometimes they walk through the countryside
8. But - they don't sing when they are out of water
9. They have a formidable enemy
10. There is a big bird
11. Her name is Stork
12. It has a large sharp beak
13. It is white and black
14. The frog does not have very nice voice.
15. A crow has a much better voice than a frog.
16. It is not harmful if an animal is ugly
17. In a pond there are almost always frogs.
