Brazil is four times the size of Mexico. It is almost as big as the United States of America, but it just has one fifth part of its population. The major part of Brasil is not populated, becuase it is full of dense jungles. The tropical vegetation is abundant in these jungles. The major part of the population live in the south coast. In the jungles of Brazil we see all types of tropical plants and  animals of South America. There are 300 types of palms. There are also abundant furniture wood and also we see rubber trees.
In the middle of Brazil they extract iron and carbon. In the northern region and near the coast we see sugarcane, cotton, tobacco and rice. We see coffee plants in most parts but the major production of the best quality of coffee is obtained in the fields near Rio de Janeiro. Brazil produces more coffee than the rest of the whole world.
In the south of the country they harvest maize and corn. In the extreme south there are farms and they export leather, tallow, horns and bones of animals. There are very few factories of articles for export, but this is industry is growing. Brazil has larger trade than any other country in South America. The cities and principal ports are the centre of 13000 km of iron mines.
The city of Rio de Janeiro, has a magificent port and is the capital of Brazil and it is the major cities of South America. It has factories and has extensive trade, especially in coffee.

LOS ÓRGANOS DEL CUERPO HUMANO

Busca otra boca.

The organs of the human body

One time the labourers or poor citizens of the city of Rome rebel against the city's rich. Their complaint was, that they always worked and paid taxes, but the rich and noble class never worked, and their only occupation was to eat and govern. They were very discontented, the poor resolve to abandon Rome go to surrounding areas, and swear never to return to the city.

Then the nobles sent a wise roman to convince the poor from leaving the city. The wise man said to the poor in this manner:
One time the organs of the human body started rebelling with the stomach, and very outraged and said:
we are always working but you never work.
the legs compalined that they carry the body and walk for all the parts. The eyes complained that they are always seeing all the things and have to keep vigil constantly. The hands said:
Why must be always work when you are resting?
and the mouth complained:
All the life I have been a fool. I grind all your food, but you just receive what I send. Look for another mouth.
In this manner all the organs spoke and resolved to do no work for the stomach.
So, with great surprise, they start to rebell. The feet felt weak, the eyes are obscured and could not see, the hands are very week, and in the end, all the body becomes very week, but the stomach, does not receive any food, and could not send energy to the body.
Then the organs understand that they had been foolish. Then they understand clearly that the stomach also works and serves all them all, and they felt sorry and starting working again.
Hearing this the poor Romans understood their significance, regretted what they had done and were content to work in the city again.
The  nobles were very prudent after this and said to the poor to increase their wage and gave them best deals.

The house in which I live is in the Washington Street. The house number is two hundred and forty; Our apartment is in the third floor. The third floor in Spain is not the same as the one in United States. In Spain, the first floor is the ground floor. I have to climb a flight of stairs or use the lifts to go to the third floor. In the lower floor, there is a shop and a bakery. Below the ground floor is the basement. Here lives our watchman. In Spain the watchman lives in the lower floor and not in the basement. No person can go there only those who live there and those who are visiting people living there. In our house, there is a lift. We go up and down in the lift. It is much easier to climb up or down. The house is of stone. Not all houses are made of stone. Many houses in our country are made of wood. The roof of our house is flat. Not all roofs are flat. The roof of a church are generally slopy.

The children are sitting with their arms crossed, on the desk before them.
The clock points to 4 and strokes four times. The master joins his hands and the boys and girls stop sitting. With everyone standing on their legs next to their desks, with their eyes on the American flag, sing the national anthem, "America." After this act, the last school day, the master goes to the school door, and the boys and girls form a line and march in twos.
Some students walk from the school to a small square with grand trees to the side of the road. Here they break line and form groups. Johnny, 15 years old, and Mary, 14 years old, sister of Johnny, search with their eyes for their friend Leal.
Leal is a grand dog of Newfoundland. It is a dog with large black curly hair, and long ears and a snout, big kind eyes, and a wet cold snout, and sharp white teeth. Their father is the owner of the dog. Leal, all the days, accompanies the siblings to the school in the morning and evening hoping for a walk with the children in the square.
Now he is sitting on his hind limbs, and is waiting to find the affectionate children among other children. As soon as he spots the sibligns, in a second, he runs to the place, jumping and wagging its tail. The two siblings stroke him. Mary gives her lunch bag to the dog, from which she and John has their afternoon lunch. Johnny places the strap of the book bag in Leal's mouth. Also their friends stokes and play with Leal.

rest of this in the next blog post.
So let me start with the translation.

Ése par no me queda bien. Muéstreme usted otros.
El comerciante le pasa un segundo par.
-Ése tampoco me queda bien.
!Usted no sabe leer!
-?Leer? ?Yo?
***********
So I will begin with the translation. It is really a funny anecdote. I think I have seen jokes of this one in many movies. So I start now.

A peasant notices that some people use glasses to read. One time he passes by a shop and enters to buy a pair.
The shop owner presents a par and also a newspaper to read. The peasant wears the glasses and takes the newspaper and looks and says finally:
- This par is not good enough. Give me others.
The businessman gets another pair.
This is not very good.
The shop owner gets the third, fourth, fifth and sixth pair. But not one is good for him.
Sir, don't you have atleast a single pair with which I can read. - says the peasant finally.
By the way, the businessman sees that the peasant is having the newspaper in the wrong way and says.
But man! You can't read!
Read? me? That'w why I am here to buy glasses, you see. Our school master cannot distinguish between A and B without his glasses, but when he wears, it goes without a hitch. I wish of for glasses like that; glasses that will help me read.

So keywords,
par de anteojos - par of glasses
el campesino - the peasant
comprar - to buy
leer -to read
saber - to know

Translation
In the north, there are large farms where they raise horses, sheeps, and cattle. In Mexico, there are more than 20000 farms dedicated for raising the cattle. The mention  of Mexico would not be complete without the mention of the rich mines of Mexico. They produce all minerals like silver, gold, lead, iron, copper, mercury, tin, sulphur, petroleum and carbon.
Among the oldest manufactures of the country are the corn mills and saw mills of valuable timber. It is an important industry in the manufacture and distillation of beverages. Pulque is the national drink of Mexico, and is obtained from the maguey juice. They also manufacture paper and clay objects. There are numerous iron foundries where they make cotton and wool.

Two thirds of exports are of precious metals; exports of leather and meat are second in importance. The export of coffee increases constantly. The main receivers of  the manufactured goods are United States, Germany, England and France.
